The exhibition at Weavers Gallery in Ledbury opened on Tuesday. This is a lovely gallery consisting of two well lit rooms with interesting hanging space broken down into sections. It was great to see how the invited exhibitors had translated the theme inspired by poems written by the Dymock Poets. Here are a couple of general views and when I am stewarding tomorrow I will take some more detailed photographs of exhibits to share with you at the weekend.
There was more indigo and potassium permanganate dyeing yesterday at The Bramble Patch. Several students experimented with dipping one end of their fabric into the potassium permanganate and the other end into the indigo vat then hanging them so that the dye trickled down.
It will be interesting to see these fabrics next week when they have been thoroughly washed and pressed and ready to inspire sea and sand compositions.
Speak to you soon, Edwina
